The name of this Roscommon hotel was derived from the 13th Century Roscommon Abbey the ruins of which can be seen from the Abbey Hotel. The Dominican Abbey was originally founded in 1253 by Felim O'Connor who was the last High King of Connacht. The purpose of the Abbey was to provide food and shelter for travellers and visitors to the area.
You can enjoy a wonderful atmosphere of elegance and relaxation at the Abbey Hotel Roscommon. Since its refurbishment, it has 50 comfortable and stylish guest bedrooms as well as the superb Abbey Suite. This comfortable and luxurious suite has a four poster bed, which is truly like a fairy-tale, complete with a free standing bath.
There is also a new Leisure Centre and a 20m Indoor Swimming Pool, a fully equipped gym, conference and wedding facilities and a bar available at the Abbey Hotel Roscommon.
